If you are renewing your EHIC, you can do so six months before the expiry of your current card.

The eligibility criterion for obtaining an EHIC is quite simple;
  • You got to be a resident of UK
  • You should be above 16 years of age
  • Every person in a family is entitled to a separate EHIC
  • Children below 16 years of age are to be added as dependent child in the EHIC that the parent possess.

Now comes the most important question, what do you do if your EHIC Card is Lost or stolen and you are in need of immediate medical assistance? The answer is PRC. PRC stands for Provisional Replacement Certificate. PRC will provide you with the same cover as an EHIC until you return home. It will be issued directly to the healthcare provider you are undergoing treatment with.

To get a PRC, all you need to do is provide your: name, address, date of birth, National Insurance or NHS number and the details of the healthcare provider you are undergoing treatment with and your job is done. Someone else can also do this on your behalf in case you are seriously injured or have no family member along.

All said and done, where do you apply for this card? The answer is Apply Ehic Online. They provide you with an online application form which needs to be filled with all the relevant details. This is checked for errors by a real person and only then is sent to the NHSBSA for processing. With such a trusted provider, getting an EHIC card is a cakewalk.

Visit them today and get hold of your EHIC.
